TABPI welcomes two interns from Hampton University

CLEVELAND, OH (January 05, 2021) — TABPI is excited to welcome two new interns to its team: Kennedy Buck and Xavier White. Both attend Hampton University and are majoring in journalism. Based in Virginia, Hampton is a top university that is “dedicated to the promotion of learning, building of character, and preparation of promising students for positions of leadership and service.”

Kennedy Buck

Kennedy Buck is a junior journalism major and political science minor. Her love of journalism began after joining her high school’s speech and debate team. While in college, she founded and created SisterTalk®, a monthly town hall meeting for college women to discuss everyday issues.

Buck is also an award-winning equestrian, Honor Student, and the main anchor for Hampton University’s TV station, WHOV- TV. She is excited to see more of the B2B industry so she can become a better journalist. After college, Buck hopes to attend graduate school to further her journalism career as a multimedia journalist or a news anchor for a top network.

Xavier White

Xavier White is a third-year journalism major and marketing minor. He’s an Indianapolis native who has a deep love for the field of journalism, with a specific interest in business journalism. White looks forward to furthering his capabilities in his desired field while pursuing a passion for writing.

“We were looking for students who are passionate about journalism and social media,” shares TABPI president, Paul J. Heney. “These positions with TABPI provide experience in the vast world of B2B publications, which far outnumber consumer magazines, and employ thousands of editorial positions in the U.S. alone. We’ve been impressed so far and are very much looking forward to working with Kennedy and Xavier over the next few months.”

This opportunity to intern with TABPI provides university students real-world experience practicing interview skills, writing articles, creating social media content, and engaging with some of the top B2B publications from around the world. It also offers an inside look at how the Tabbie Awards, a global B2B journalism competition for editors, art directors, and publishers, are judged and granted.
