Put your grammar goods on the block and help fund scholarships

JANUARY 31, 2020 — Gathering all grammar geeks! The ACES: The Society for Editing is hosting its 24th annual national conference in Salt Lake City, April 30 to May 2, 2020. ACES is a national, American organization of editing professionals, educators, and students. that “sets standards of excellence and give a voice to editors in journalism, government, business, and beyond through top-notch training, networking, and career opportunities.”

The conference provides an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on education and network. Among the many fun things at the ACES conference is a silent auction, which benefits the ACES Education Fund. This is where people bid on an array of items, such as editor-related swag, artwork, technology, tours, chocolates, and more.

These items are donated, so consider donating word-themed T-shirts, coffee mugs, company-branded tchotchkes, etc. If you would like it, chances are another editor would like it as well.

The auction will open on Friday, May 1, at 4 to 7pm. A cash bar will be available during the event.

To help ACES get a head start, please share what you’re bringing by filling out this form. You can drop things off at the registration desk (labeled with your name and what you think the value is). Before April 15 you can ship items to:

Abbi Booth
ACES Executive Director
1443 Cardiff Drive
Gardnerville, NV 89410

Remember, the auction is only as good as the items YOU donate. And it pays for scholarships.
