The British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) is hosting “What editors need to know in the 2020s,” its first event of the decade on Tuesday, January 21st. BSME is the only society in the UK exclusively for magazine and website editors and senior editorial staff.

A stellar panel of industry experts will share insights into the changing media landscape and reveal why editors and their teams need to think radically to stay ahead of the game in the 20s. Panelists will include: James Hewes, President & CEO, FIPP – the network for global media; Petah Marian, Trend forecaster and speaker (helping businesses understand the future) at WGSN; and Douglas McCabe, CEO and Director of Publishing and Tech, Enders Analysis.

Topics discussed will include:

  • How to build deep relationships with readers in an ever-more digital world
  • Which platforms or initiatives editors should focus on to drive loyalty and revenue; what new skills editors need for the new decade
  • What newsstands will look like in five years’ time
